MESSAGE: I'm sending this message to both you, Marian, and Merrill, because you're the only people who believe me. Divines willing, Anders will listen to you, Marian. But in case he does not, and something were to happen to me, I want to make you both aware of what's happening.
Wesker is definitely up to something. We fought, and this time, there were no pretenses or subtleties. He offered me a truce, a chance at reconciliation with Anders, if I was to work under him. I refused.
He rubbed my actions in my face, gleefully explaining to me how I've dug my own grave with Anders, spoke of how he'd been concerned that my return would 'distract Anders', whatever that means. He insinuated that he and Anders are involved romantically. He is goading me into killing him.
[She reads the message over before responding, though what he's written makes her ill at ease.]
I don't understand why. You're not going to kill him and it's not going to make him look any better to Anders if he's caught doing this. And, of course, he won't let that happen, will he?
[Wesker had acted polite to her. But why go after Martin so aggressively? He has to know that Martin will tell people, including Anders, and maybe even Hawke herself. It doesn't quite add up.]
Try to avoid him. I can be around as much as I can and then he won't be able to do anything. Is this device capable of recording anything? Could you catch him in the act?
Neither do I. No, he's too smart for that. He's played me against Anders and I fell right into his trap. I won't him that satisfaction, not anymore.
Yes, I'll avoid him. Anders too. I'm sure Wesker will spin this and make me into a villain in Anders' eyes. It'll be better not to antagonize either of them for a while.
The devices are capable of recording, but I'll never be able to get close enough to Wesker. It'll have to be someone else.
The longer you can stave off a confrontation with either of them, the better. At least until we have some concrete proof to back this up so Anders doesn't think you're lying. If he's going to be stubborn, then we need something that will make him see.
I'm sorry. Just try to be patient. I'll try to stay around as much as I can in case this happens again. I don't know of anyone who can get that close to Wesker, though.
[Awkward pause here. Hawke might hear her dog in the background waffling and whining about something like it's interesting but also totally not what he wants to be interested in.]
I— Somehow—
...I do not wish to alarm you, but I may have done something a bit difficult to remedy. [So much uncertainty is in his voice. The statement might even sound a bit like a question.] Erm. To your mabari... [Who barks just then. Just in case Hawke thinks the dog in the background is not hers.]
[It's a question posed as a statement, demanding an answer without a rise in tone. But her dog is barking and he doesn't sound...too distressed. He's not whimpering. He's agitated and she can already tell. Doge senses]

I don't know what to do. I had to tell someone.

What do you mean, 'difficult to remedy.'

Doge senses]What's happened?

...you are aware of the recent...um. Delegating of abilities?
[And here is Hawke's dog whining again since Fenris is not dealing with the thing and talking to not-him.]
